Nurse Practitioner
The role of the Nurse Practitioner at the John Noble Home is to provide primary care services to residents, in collaboration with the Medical Director.
His/her focus is on providing wound care, health maintenance, illness prevention and health promotion. He/she
initiates and manages the care of residents with disease and/or disorders within the Nurse Practitioner scope of practice. He/she monitors ongoing therapies of residents with chronic stable illness by providing pharmacological, complementary and or counseling interventions.
The Nurse Practitioner has additional education that allows her to independently prescribe specific drugs and treatments as outlined by the College of Nurses. He/she can also determine the need for ordering of specific diagnostic tests. His/her role is vital in providing optimal and timely health care services to all residents.
